In SF Chinatown, there are ~500 families with children that live in single room occupancy housing with ~$25K of annual income. These families live in only 150 square feet and 50 families on a floor share bathrooms and a communal kitchen.
CYCSF stepped in to provide wraparound services like counseling, substance abuse/violence prevention, leadership development, civic engagement, etc. Whatever the kids need, CYC’s finding a way to provide. Most importantly, CYC’s showing these kids they are SEEN. That they are LOVED. There is HOPE.
